Adam Mickiewicz Institute introduces a wide range of new talents from Poland

[Advertorial] Don’t Panic! Polish bands will move you.

Four Polish bands are playing at this year’s ESNS. The selection will lead you through very different moods starting with an emotional journey of teenage charm with Lor, through groovy and jazzy EABS, going on to the raw punk and electronic dance attitude of Javva and finishing on the most extreme Polish act of noisy but melodic Fleshworld. Don’t miss their showcase’s on Thursday starting at 20:15 and on Friday at 22:40.

Lor are four talented female teenagers from Kraków who present an unusual atmospheric style, based on the mix of piano, violin and vocals that are both subtle and charming. Their debut full-length Lowlight came out in 2019, followed in 2020 by the Sunlight EP.

TIME: Thursday, 20:15-20:30 / VENUE: ESNS 03

Javva is a dance band including five well-known Polish musicians who decided to play music inspired by avant-rock and post-punk, fixing their eyes on African cities, villages and scrap yards. Their debut album Balance of Decay is devoted mostly to the technological, social and enviromental crisis that humanity has witnessed in the last decade.

Fleshworld, a five-piece band from Kraków, delivers challengingly noisy and melodic sludgy post-hardcore that evokes nostalgia, regret and uneasiness. In 2019 their latest album The Essence Has Changed, But The Details Remain, came out on This Charming Man Records.

Wrocław sextet EABS blends traditional Polish jazz with other genres, thus creating a new and personal interpretation of modern jazz.
