Zesendertigste editie ESNS verenigt hoopvolle maar vermoeide muzieksector op digitaal platform
ESNS organiseert dit jaar voor de zesendertigste keer het showcasefestival en de muziekconferentie in Groningen. ESNS 2022 (19 – 22 januari 2022) heeft door de coronamaatregelen inmiddels voor de tweede keer grotendeels digitaal moeten plaatsvinden.
Popprijs 2021 naar DI-RECT
DI-RECT heeft de Popprijs 2021 gewonnen. Dat is zaterdag 22 januari 2022 bekendgemaakt tijdens de digitale editie van Noorderslag, onderdeel van ESNS. De Popprijs is de meest prestigieuze prijs voor Nederlandse popmuziek, bestaande uit een geldbedrag van 10.000 euro en een beeld van Theo Mackaay. De bekendmaking was live te zien bij de NTR op NPO 3, te horen op NPO 3FM en te zien via de livestream van het festival.

De Groningse band The Vices is de winnaar van het Cultuurfonds Pop Stipendium 2022 en ontvangt daarmee het prijzengeld van 10.000 euro.
