Kees van Weijen has been working in the Entertainment Industry in The Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain since 1974. Throughout his career Kees has worked for Universal Music as Executive Vice President and for Mercury Records, MCA, Polydor and Rough Trade distribution. The Dutch IFPI awarded him with the 'Zilveren Fonograaf' for his outstanding contribution in the music industry in 2011. Kees was elected Chairman of the IMPALA (independent music companies association) board and is now President of IMPALA. He is also board member of WIN and Chairman of (Dutch independent label association) STOMP.

Labels, artiesten en rechthebbenden zien steeds meer in dat in de moderne wereld data bijna zo belangrijk is als de muziek zelf. STOMP, de Nederlandse brancheorganisatie voor independent labels, presenteert daarom dit panel om te onderzoeken hoe labels data verzamelen, opslaan, analyseren en implementeren. De panelleden zullen daarnaast ook bespreken hoe je toegang krijgt tot data die verder gaat dan de standaard statistieken van online platforms, wat de beste marketingmogelijkheden zijn en waar volgens hen de focus op zou moeten liggen. Tijdens dit panel zal er ook gekeken worden naar hoe independent labels data van platforms zoals Spotify maximaal kunnen benutten en hoe data gebruikt kan worden voor het efficiënter plannen van concerten en het benaderen van doelgroepen.

Helene Koekoek 8ball Music (NL)
Helene Koekoek is a product manager at 8ball Music, a label specialized in more than the exploitation of music. The company provides in-house management for some of its artists including Miss Montreal and Maan, and is dedicated to organizing (large-scale) events. Helene has a masters degree in new media and digital culture and has experience in both event and artist/music marketing.
Noah Smits Paúw Agency (NL)
With a background as a signed recording artist himself, Noah Smits knows the ropes of the Music Industry. Hence, the reason why he started his digital marketing company. Within a year he managed to grow his company 'Paúw Agency' from a 'freelance gig' to a legit company with employees serving almost 50 clients. Practically all the well-known record labels, artist managers, booking agencies and event organisers in the Netherlands work with the company to get their music release, artist or event promoted online. Targeting and research are key in the success of 'Paúw Agency'. Data is everything in making strategic decisions online.
Robin van Beek Modestus (NL)
Robin van Beek studied economics and organizational sciences at Tilbury University. During these years he performed as a musician in one of Holland's best known bands of the 90s: Guus Meeuwis & Vagant. After graduating he worked for EMI Music Netherlands, 8ball Music and as a freelance music consultant. Two years ago, Robin joined forces again with Guus Meeuwis, now as managing director for Guus' entertainment company Modestus. Robin has set-up an independent record and publishing company for Modestus. The company has signed other artists and authors like Rowwen Hèze and Rob Dekay, but also provides business management services to a number of successful Dutch artists.
