    Kim Hoekema Sony Music (LASER)

After being born and raised in Leeuwarden, Friesland – I left the North to start my musical theatre study at the Dance Academy Fontys in Tilburg. With music always being a big passion, I decided after that study to stop my theatre ambition and trade it for a career in music. This was not an easy task without a fitting education or the right experience and ended up working for the skatebrand Vans. After 7 years of trying I finally landed her first job in music at Spinnin’ Records and practiced multiple positions from PR/Marketing to A&R and streaming. For about 3 years later I got the opportunity to start at Sony Music as a Streaming Manager in the streaming & data team, but the A&R ambition was still itching. I continued to pursue that ambition and 2 years after starting at Sony Music I finally got the chance to fulfill a position as an A&R manager – this is my current position and I’m enjoying every minute of it.
