ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) starts next week in the city of Groningen. Next to the conference, award shows and the latest emerging European artists, there is more to discover than music in Groningen. At ESNS ART, art is given a broad scope in all its disciplines.
During ESNS 2019, from Wednesday January 16 to Saturday January 19, artists will present work in numerous forms in Groningen. From installations and exhibitions to performances and projections. There are projections of lasers and animations on the tower of the Groninger Museum, The Garage presents bands from the focus countries Czech Republic and Slovakia, Pičus has adapted self-portraits at the Vismarkt. Visit Grandstand, the installation of artist Ilona Németh at the Stadsschouwburg or travel through the infinity of the atmosphere by Biosphere in DOT.
There is also a poster exhibition at the Grafisch Museum, a daily Augmented Reality exhibition by Someone in Galleria Unexpected, The Resort emerges in the former BIM station with performances and a talk show, Pop photographer Claude Vanheye exhibits at the Groninger Museum, Noorderlicht presents an exhibition by the Iranian visual artist Rahi Rezvani, or visit Filler III in SIGN for the wall constellations by artists Hans Hoekstra, Jur de Vries and Lisa Smithson.
During the festival days, concert promoter MOJO exhibits photographs and objects from Dutch pop history in the Martinikerk. On Saturday, MOJO will be auctioning at Grand Theatre for the MOJO For Music Foundation, a foundation which aims to support musicians and other creatives.
