ESNS presents Club Guy & Roni and Slagwerk Den Haag at Eurosonic Air

International dance company Club Guy & Roni present the dance performance Mechanical Ecstasy at Eurosonic Air. Together with Slagwerk Den Haag, the Groningen collective, led by Guy Weizman and Roni Haver, is creating a new and experimental concept where party and theatre intersect.

Mechanical Ecstasy, in a special festival edition, as performed at Lowlands festival, is an ode to the rave parties of the late 1980s, when the rise of dance caused a real revolution in the nightlife scene. It was a time when the internet did not yet exist and everything was invented with the ultimate Do It Yourself mentality, with the RoXY in Amsterdam as theatrical center.

Eleven dancers, one actress and three musicians take the lead, but also work with the audience on a special performance, in which the beats show the way. With music by Jan-Bas Bollen and NOISIA‘s Thijs de Vlieger, played live by the percussionists of Slagwerk Den Haag.

The show will take place on Thursday January 16 at the Grote Markt as part of Eurosonic Air. The performance of Mechanical Ecstasy at ESNS is supported by Fonds Podiumkunsten. The slot at Eurosonic Air offers a unique showcasing opportunity for over 4.000 music professionals, among which 400+ festivals that could feature the performance in the future.

More acts for the Eurosonic Air program will be announced soon.
