The Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC) is a public institution that looks after the development and the consolidation of the Catalan creative sectors as an uplift for its professionalisation. In the frame of the Government of Catalonia’s Ministry of Culture, ICEC advises and accompanies Catalan companies in their development process in several sectors such as: performing arts, visual arts, audiovisual, books, music and digital culture.
With headquarters in Barcelona and a network of offices around Europe, its Market Development Department facilitates to creative companies the access to national and international markets. First of all by coordinating and supporting the strategic marketplaces and professional events taking place in Catalonia that focus on the performing arts and music. In the music field, such events are: Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, Fira Mediterrània, PrimaveraPro and Sonar+D. Secondly, supporting a great diversity of companies such as record labels, managers, promoters, bookers, publishers and festivals in their international activity. On one side, offering grants, training, market research and consultancy on export projects. On the other side, strengthening their attendance at fairs and key events worldwide, under the brand of Catalan Arts.
