European Festival Awards

The European Festival Awards is the annual celebration of the European continent’s most esteemed festivals and the organisers behind them. Established in 2009 by Festival Awards Ltd., Yourope and Eurosonic Noorderslag, the last European Festival Awards ceremony took place on January 15, 2020 in Groningen, in conjunction with the opening of ESNS. The ceremony comprises 15 awards, some decided by public vote and others by a panel of experts. The event also hosts performances from the continent’s hottest emerging talent. 

The European Festival Awards 2020 winners are:

  • Best Small Festival – ARTmania Festival
  • Best Indoor Festival – WOS Festival
  • Best New Festival – Rolling Stone Park
  • Line-up of the Year – Roskilde Festival
  • Newcomer of the Year – Greta van Fleet
  • The Brand Activation Award – Fortum at Ruisrock
  • Promoter of the Year – MOJO Concerts
  • Agent of the Year – Mike Greek, CAA
  • The Award for Excellence & Passion – Michal Kascak, Pohoda Festival
  • The Lifetime Achievement Award – Peter Smidt
  • The Health & Safety Innovation Award – Roskilde Festival
  • The Green Operations Award – DGTL Amsterdam
  • The Take a Stand Award – Pohoda Festival

The European Festival Awards is considered the most credible event for recognising the industry’s collective achievements.
