New energy during Eurosonic Noorderslag

From Wednesday 15th of January the Green Energy Mill (GEM) will be on the Vismarkt in Groningen. GEM is a sustainable solution to drastically reduce the use of diesel generators at festivals and to create awareness about new energy solutions. The tower uses an impressive wind turbine and colorful solar collectors. The energy generated is stored in a battery.

GEM as part of ESNS
In 2019 a scale model of GEM was shown during the EPIC conference. Now the tower can be seen by everyone during ESNS. Students from the TU / Eindhoven are present on a daily basis to tell interested visitors about the possibilities of GEM. Especially for ESNS participants there will be a panel discussion during EPIC on Thursday 16 January where the results of GEM and the planned innovations at GEM will be discusses. And we are launching the GEM tour schedule for 2020. Obviously there is enough room to discuss the possible production challenges.

Given the privacy of the conference, a panel discussion will also be organized at the GEM-tower itself on Thursday afternoon 16th of January. Everyone who is interested in sustainable solutions for festivals in the broadest sense of the word and sustainability in general is most welcome.

For students in groups 6, 7 and 8, a special student program was drawn up that day in which information is provided as well as a quiz.
