National Council for Culture
Kristel Baele is President of the National Council for Culture. She graduated in Political and Social Sciences at the University of Ghent and in Sociology at the University of Antwerp. After moving to the Netherlands Kristel held various executive roles in higher education, most recently as President of the Board at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. In addition, she was a member of the advisory board of the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education (Nuffic) and a member of the advisory board VSB-funds. Between 2010 and 2018 Kristel held a seat in the Dutch Council for Education. Alongside her work at the Council for Culture, she is currently part of the Supervisory Board of The Hague University of Applied Sciences, amongst other non-executive roles. Kristel is a member of the selection committee for the Deltapremie, a prestigious research prize.
