Koen Poolman
OOR
Music nerd turned chief commander of OOR, the main music magazine in the Netherlands that celibrated its 50th anniversary in 2021. Poolman, who gained experience as editor-in-chief of Dutch underground magazine Opscene in the early nineties, joined OOR in 1996. He became a staff writer two years later, editor-in-chief in 2005, publisher since 2011. Currently also involved in web development and graphic design. A selfmade man. Spent most of Covid Year One in the attic to work on 'Want More? Het Beste Van 50 Jaar OOR', a massive art book that celibrates 50 years of music writing and photography by the famous and less famous people that contributed to OOR magazine over the last half of a century. Made sure all of 'em were involved with and represented in the book. It was published on April 1 2021, on the 50th birthday of the magazine, a month later Poolman himself turned 50. Still banging the coolest tunes he can find (as in: Tunes 2011-2019, by Burial, or some dusty Neil Young solo bootleg, as long as its real, honest, hardcore). Indulges his addiction through curating OOR's weekly Spotify playlists. It's a hard habit to break.
