Fans of Hungary's famous Sziget Festival must have been shocked when the festival's owner Superstruct announced it would no longer run the festival due too rising costs and losses. It would end an impressive tradition in Budapest’s ‘Island of peace’, in the heart of the city. It's another big blow after the festival also received backlash for being owned by Superstruct/KKR, a private equity company that also invests in Israeli tech companies. But that was not the end, since the original owners decided to step back in and save Sziget. Tamás Kádár has been Sziget's CEO since 2011.
