Climate Philosopher
Chris Julien is a climate philosopher based in Zaandam, the Netherlands.
His PhD research at Utrecht University moves between philosophy of science and political ecology, developing a field of ecological governance in times of collapse.
He works on societal and cultural projects that focus on ecology and climate change, with previous experience as a strategist, research director and concept developer.
Julien is the author of Alledaags activisme (2024), and is now writing a book on ecopopulism with Uitgeverij De Geus. He advises various cultural institutions, is spokesperson for Extinction Rebellion NL and holds cum laude masters degrees in Cultural Analysis and in Conflict Studies & Human Rights.
