Manager Festivalteam, Rotterdam Festivals
Franc is the Manager of the Festivalteam at Rotterdam Festivals, an independent non-profit organization that coordinates Rotterdam's events policy on behalf of the municipality of Rotterdam. Rotterdam Festivals supports and promotes festivals and cultural activities that are in line with the city’s DNA: raw, international and enterprising. Rotterdam Festivals also advises the municipality of Rotterdam about cultural policy and festival policy.
Within Rotterdam Festivals, Franc is responsible for the team that maintains all contacts with the various festival organisers and cultural institutions on one hand and the municipality on the other hand. Every year, the team puts together Rotterdam's events calendar and supports festival and event organisers with financial support, knowledge and advice. The connection with Rotterdam and its residents is central to this.
In his spare time, he is chairman of the Supervisory Board of the SPRING Performing Arts Festival in his hometown of Utrecht. He's also chair of the Advisory Committee on Quality Criteria for Events for the municipality of Utrecht. Previously, he was chairman of the board of Le Guess Who?, Grasnapolsky and Freaky Dancing.
