Matthea de Jong (1981) is director of Tolhuistuin, a cultural hotspot in Amsterdam with various concert and performance halls, exhibition space, studios, a restaurant and an idyllic garden. From intimate theater performances to vibrant concerts and events. From outdoor expos to podcast programs. Previously part of Shell’s research lab, the culture centre aspires to be a catalyst for change towards a more sustainable and inclusive city. Matthea is also initiator of We Are Warming Up in collaboration with Impact Makers. We Are Warming Up develops, (co)produces and presents arts & entertainment projects around climate change. She is co-founder of Bureau Burgerberaad for a national citizen assembly about climate policy. Previously, she set up several organisations and initiatives. She worked on the Movies that Matter Foundation, a platform for film and human rights and on various media and art projects about social issues.
