Sacha Vermeulen is a documentary filmmaker known for her sensitive and empathetic approach to storytelling. She strives to portray her subjects in their rawest, most authentic form, always maintaining a strong cinematic vision. Her work often highlights new perspectives and underrepresented stories, with a special focus on youth and their experiences.

Sacha began her career at MTV Networks before moving on to work as an independent director for major Dutch broadcasters such as VPRO, BNNVARA, and NTR. Over the past several years, she has concentrated mainly on documentary filmmaking, gaining recognition for her insightful and intimate portraits.

Her debut documentary was ‘Alleen met Iedereen’, a film about rapper Ronnie Flex, which was followed by a second installment titled ‘De Vlucht van Ronnie’. She also created the acclaimed three-part series ‘30 jaar Dutch Dance’ and more recent projects include the series ‘Kerwin’, ‘Paramaribo Peppers’ and 'Fri Fri Suriname'. Het most recent work is VPRO series ‘50 jaar hiphop in NL - Iemand moet het doen’ , which delves into the hip-hop culture in the Netherlands.
