As the Event Advisor for the Municipality of Groningen, I serve as a key liaison between event organizers and the municipality. My role is to align Groningen’s goals and ambitions with its diverse range of events, fostering stronger connections and mutual understanding between stakeholders.

With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and a decade of expertise in organizing events, including three years with Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS), I bring a unique perspective to my work. Having transitioned from the private sector to the municipality in May 2022, I understand the language and needs of both worlds—those of event organizers and the municipality.

In 2019, I was proud to receive Groningen’s Diversity Award for leading the municipality’s most inclusive business. Collaboration, listening, and shared goals are at the heart of my approach. I believe in the power of events to act as catalysts for social and cultural transitions, and I dedicate myself to bridging the gap between the municipality and its residents through impactful, forward-thinking initiatives.
