Weird Youth is the solo project of musician and songwriter Harmen Ridderbos. After years of working with projects such as Town of Saints, Electropoëzie, CAW CAW and collaborations with Melle Leyten, he now turns to a more personal direction. On Season One, Ridderbos explores the complexity of love, embracing both euphoria and moral ambiguity. The record was entirely recorded in his own studio on an 8-track cassette recorder, with Ridderbos playing all instruments himself, resulting in a raw and immediate sound. Musically, Weird Youth draws from 1970s artists like Neil Young and The Band, with subtle touches of 1990s indie rock, forming the backdrop for intimate and lived-in storytelling.
