ESNS and Innofest have been friends for quite a while. For almost 6 years in a row, ESNS has welcomed sustainable and social entrepreneurs who - with the help of Innofest - want to test their prototype at the festival. During these tests, the entrepreneurs receive feedback with which they can improve their product, and increase their sustainable or social impact.
75% of smokers throw their cigarette butts on the ground, causing damage to aquatic life and toxicating our soil. One butt can pollute up to 1000 liters of water and kills sea life and organisms within hours. It is imminent that the mindset of smokers needs to change. The BUTTLE is a tool for (festival) visitors to sustainably throw away their cigarette butts. It exemplifies how easy this is, but most importantly informs on the impact cigarette butt litter has on the environment. Are you planning on smoking a cigarette during ESNS?
