Akwasi Ansah is a Dutch-Ghanaian rapper, writer, and creative entrepreneur, known for his powerful performances, poetic language, and commitment to social change. While studying at the Theatre Acadamy, he achieved his breakthrough with the hip-hop collective Zwart Licht and developed into a versatile creator in music, theater, poetry, and television.

In 2020, Akwasi co-founded Omroep ZWART, a public broadcaster born from the need for new voices and stories often overlooked in traditional media. A year later, Omroep ZWART was admitted to the Dutch public broadcasting system (NPO). Since then, Akwasi has guided the broadcaster's course as Creative Director, focusing on innovative storytelling and programming formats that showcase diverse perspectives.

Akwasi has been a member of the EBU TV Committee since 2023, representing Omroep ZWART and the entire NPO within the European public media landscape. This year he was elected one of three Vice-chairman of the committee.

With his work as an artist, creator, and director, Akwasi remains an inspiring voice that offers new perspectives and creates space for stories that truly matter.
