Co-programmer of the daytime conference, BIGSOUND
As an Artist manager, Cathy Oates was able her to follow her passion of carving out pathways for Australian artists to flourish on an international scale. Angus & Julia Stone were the first act to sign in 2006 then in 2017, new singer/songwriter Dean Lewis followed their success and went global. With her major label experience at Sony and EMI Music and more recently Warner Music, Cathy has a strong foundation to extend her knowledge to various marketing consulting roles. She is currently managing Meg Washington, an influential artist whose genre-defying work has been widely recognised over the years.
Cathy recently took on the role of co-programmer of the BIGSOUND daytime conference with colleague Niriko Mclure. Bigsound, based in Brisbane Australia, is focused on the export of emerging and breakthrough Australian Artists.
