Olivier Fontaine is an Engineer from the Faculté Polytechnique in Mons (Belgium) and holds a Complementary Master Degree in Management from the Solvay Business School in Brussels. After a 10 years career in the private sector, mainly in consulting in the railway and the retail sectors, he joined the European Commission in 2007. Since then, he was involved in a range of topics including e-Justice, maritime policy and sport. He is currently working on international cultural relations and on the music sector, in the Culture Policy Unit of the European Commission. He is passionate about music and himself a musician, playing currently the guitar in several cover bands.
