Patrick is strategist and writer with extensive leadership experience in music and technology. He began his career in the UK’s indie music sector, which included spells at labels Jive, Independiente and iconic nightclub The End, where he also DJ’d.

After a break to pursue a master’s degree, he joined Amazon in 2012, where he launched and grew their music streaming service, eventually leading the company’s music businesses in the UK. He founded a strategy consultancy for music and tech in 2022 and subsequently built an audience on Medium and Substack where he writes about music, tech and culture.

In 2025 he was appointed Executive Director of the Organization for Recorded Culture and Arts (ORCA), a think tank and advocacy group established by some of the world's best-known independent record labels.
