CEO, Sziget Cultural Management
Tamás Kádár was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, after the high school years spent in Frankfurt, Germany, he studied journalism/communication at the Kodolányi College in Hungary.
At age 19 he began working in advertising sales at Radio Bridge. Two years later he founded his own media agency Berg Média Budapest, which grew into one of Hungary’s largest domestically-owned media agencies in the 2000s. He was a co-founder of the radio station EstFM, and later majority owner of Radiocafé 98.6, a key innovator in the Budapest radio market.
In 2011 he became the CEO of Sziget Cultural Management, the company behind Sziget Festival and other events. In his role he has been responsible for the overall organisational management of the festival’s business operations. Kádár emphasises festival-experience innovation: under his leadership Sziget has introduced thematic “quarters” (e.g., zones for electronic music, arts, street culture) to diversify beyond headliner concerts and improve guest experience. He has also publicly addressed industry challenges (rising costs, changed audience behaviours post-Covid) and emphasised independence from state subsidies in the festival’s business model.
