Tessa Kalsbeek
ESNS: 2024
Project leader Education, Buma Music Academy
Tessa studied Art History and History at Radboud University in Nijmegen and focused her research on how Provo operated in Amsterdam in the 1960s. She then obtained her teaching qualification in Art History/CKV. She is no longer teaching, but since 2021, Tessa has been working in education in various ways: as an education officer at Radboud University and as education project leader at Buma Music Academy. Within the latter position, Tessa develops course materials for Music and CKV. The emphasis is on pop culture, contemporary artists and active participation of pupils, always with an engaged tone. This school year Buma Music Academy launched the Protest Song Contest, because we think it is extremely important to give young people a voice. What is on their minds, what concerns do they have and what do they dream about? There's no better way to express that than with your own protest song!
