New programming team structure strengthens the future of ESNS

29.01.26

Starting in February, ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) programmer Oskar Strajn will be taking on a new role. In recent years, Strajn has developed into a strategist within European projects such as Exchange, Radar and the MME Awards. As Head of Music, he will further develop the strategy behind Dutch and European music programming and projects. He will also be involved in positioning music in European policy programmes.

Strajn will remain responsible for booking European acts for ESNS, together with Robert Meijerink and Janneke de Boer. As Head of Bookings EU, Meijerink will also focus on maintaining and improving the ESNS network and will remain involved in European projects. The newly created programme team positions within ESNS will continue to focus on strengthening the future of European music.

Oskar Strajn, Head of Music:
"I’m excited to take the lead of the Music Department at ESNS alongside some of the most skilled music programmers in Europe. Head of international bookings remains Robert Meijerink and for the Dutch bookings Joey Ruchtie, with a new generation of music curators Janneke de Boer and Lisa Hilbrands next to us. With such a team I'm confident that Eurosonic Noorderslag will continue to present a diverse selection of music which will keep on underlining the quality of European repertoire, inspiring all the festival partners, EBU radio stations, media and all other music professionals and of course music lovers which attend the festival."

Head of Conference

Lisa Schoemaker was appointed Head of Conference in the summer of 2025, after working as a programmer for the ESNS Conference for five years. Networking, conversation, and connection are the pillars on which this conference stands. While the Eurosonic and Noorderslag festivals focus on discovering emerging new talent, the conference is all about connecting with professionals from across Europe, building cultural bridges, exchanging knowledge and experience, sharing insights, doing business, and exploring new ideas and solutions.

Lisa Schoemaker, Head of Conference:
"My goal is to open dialogue about the industry we all care so deeply about. I look forward to building the future of Europe's largest showcase event."
