Arthur Adam
ESNS: 2012
It isn't even exaggerated to call Arthur Adam the most versatile singer and songwriter in The Netherlands. Until recently he was the lead guitar player in the live band of Marike Jager during the big festivals, he played bass, guitar and keys for Joep Pelt at the North Sea Jazz Festival and in the Bimhuis. And in 2011 he made his debut as a jazz vocalist in his own dialect during the Twentse Jazzerieje. Nowadays he is playing bass and guitar in Minus The Tiger, a band from Utrecht. Besides all that he was one of the first members of the Amsterdam Songwriters Guild. That was in the days he still lived in Amsterdam, before moving back to his native region of Twente, where he founded the Twents Songschrijvers Gilde. Above all Arthur Adam is a singer and songwriter who writes very melodic and intriguing songs in all kinds of genres and has got an elastic voice. His album In A Cabin With was reviewed as: "He [Arthur Adam] gives away his warmth for free so you can get trough this winter safe and sound."
