It's safe to say that Berlin based trio, Ballet School is doing incredibly well; within eight months after forming their band, they signed a record deal with Bella Union, scored an internet hit with Heartbeat Overdrive and played gigs all over the world. Having a fan like Grimes may have given them a head start. The Canadian singer-songwriter kept plugging Ballet School, raving about Rosie Blair's vocals, a voice Grimes described as 'Liz Frazer with The Cranberries'. Their sound, like a ballet dancer, is gracious, light and agile, with influences from eighties pop, R&B and shoe gaze.
