Cashier No.9
ESNS:
2012
Cashing out has never been this fun, thanks to Cashier No. 9. This four piece band from Irish Belfast has been described as 'record collection rockers'. Not that you can hear that this band with front man Daniel Todd is coming from Belfast, just as well they could have been from California or Manchester. The eclectic, layered, guitar-jangling country-laced pop filled with rich vocal harmonies, supremely catchy melodies and some electronics has been compared to The Byrds, Beach Boys, Stone Roses, Pavement and The Flaming Lips. Daniel Todd doesn't want to pin himself down to one sound. Ever since 2008 the band is giving their fans great singles. And those fans are with many. From famous BBC DJ Rob da Bank to film composer, DJ and fellow Belfastian David Holmes who produced debut album To The Death Of Fun (2011). The Knitting Factory in New York, the Great Escape in Brighton or the Electric Proms in Londen, these are all places where Cashier No. 9 has performed. If all cash register music could be this fun.
