Dans Dans
ESNS: 2014
Have you ever wanted to know what improvised psychedelic garage-jazz sounds like? Then it's time you meet this trio from Belgium. To make sure they don't get bored playing improvised psychedelic garage-jazz, they mix in a bit of ecstatic noir soundtracks and spacey rock n' roll. On their 2012, self-titled debut album they interpreted the work of Sun Ra, Nick Drake and Ennio Morricone with their exciting blend of styles. Their second record, I/II was released last April and has been critically well received. It features, self-written material as well as covers from artists like David Bowie, Tom Waits and Charles Mingus. It was recorded in 3 days - after just 10 rehearsals.
