De Nachtdienst is an exciting cocktail of hip hop, jazz and soul, born out of a collaboration between a jazz quintet and MC Claudius de Krentenkoning. Their broken beats, Dutch lyrics and jagged, unconventional arrangements mean that their shows are never predictable, but always energetic, while at the same time creating space for improvisation and poetic reflection. Musically they are inspired by acts like Robert Glasper, Hiatus Kaiyote, Kendrick Lamar, MF DOOM and Madlib. They just crowdfunded 8000 euros to fund their recording, so a new album is coming out in 2017.
