Elmer is a rapper and producer from Amsterdam who combines her love for hip hop with provocative rawness, disarming honesty and the colourful world of comic books: a shameless act that brings a long-awaited breath of fresh air to the Dutch hip-hop scene. She (or he, whichever you prefer) is inspired by Peaches, Mr. Oizo and De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, and makes danceable tracks with electro-funk influences. Elmer addresses themes such as fear of commitment, self-hatred and the hypocrisy of left-wing people, always in combination with humor, self-mockery and raunchy lyrics.
