Her debut performance at Iceland Airwaves Festival caught the attention of Sony Masterworks, and Eydís Evensen signed to the label in November 2019. Influenced by artists such as Philip Glass and Thom Yorke, she recorded her debut album throughout 2020 at Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik. ‘Bylur’ is produced by Valgeir Sigurðsson and features an all-star list of collaborating artists. The album release in April 2021 marked the launch of Sony’s XXIM label, focused on progressive instrumental music.
