Güner Künier was born in Izmir, Turkey. Her family moved to Germany in the early 90s and as a teen she began playing guitar in bands and organising shows. After a hiatus of ten years she decided to dedicate herself to art and music and move to Berlin. On her 2022 debut album ‘Aşk’ (Turkish for “Love”) Güner Künier deploys her voice over old school and industrial drums infused with lo-fi guitar and synthesizer sounds. ‘Aşk’ also invokes a psychedelic 70s vibe with some synthwave touches and Turkish lyrics.
