When it comes to his music James Vincent McMorrow dreams in Technicolor. He compares his songs to the tides of the sea and to a sculpture. Even two years after his debut album is released huge amounts of people still discover his music. It took some time before James Vincent McMorrow was on the minds and lips of music lovers around Europe. Not that his music, and his album Early In The Morning, require an acquired taste. On the contrary. Once you hear his falsetto voice and guitar playing, there's no way back. Early In The Morning was first released in the United Kingdom and Ireland. A year later it was the rest of Europe's turn. The album was recorded in a time span of five months in an isolated house by the sea. McMorrow even compares his music to the sea. He says chords and melody come in and drop out, like the tides, as they move towards their inevitable end. Music that slowly forms itself in the mind of McMorrow up to the point he can sculpt it into a song. His lyrics are inspired by Roald Dahl, John Steinbeck and F. Scott Fitzgerald. His folk music is often compared to Bon Iver and Ray LaMontagne. It's not just the album that earned Mc Morrow a reputation as a musician to watch closely, after every gig his notoriety increases.
