Everybody knows: if a song is good it still sounds wonderful on the crappiest device. Jennie Abrahamson knows it and decided in the two months she had, before recording her third album The Sound of Your Beating Heart, to record her new songs on a 4-track application on her cell phone, keeping it strict with melody, rhythms and piano. In the studio the songs got their final shape. A younger, more accessible Kate Bush and the perfect threesome marriage of Glasser, Lykke Li and Robyn, that is how the music of Jennie Abrahamson has been described. The Swedish singer has been making music for quite some time now. Her debut album is from 2007, sophomore album While the sun’s still up and the sky is bright was released in 2009. These albums and the accompanying singles made Abrahamson a star in Sweden and in other countries. Just as her last album this music was released on her own label, the same way her friends Friska Viljor and Ane Brun work. Abrahamson still tours in the band of Ane Brun, for the pure fun and musical love of it. Yet the quality of The Sound of Your Beating Heart and its catchy singles may cause in the future that there is no more time for Abrahamson to tour with others.
