If you look at Julien Mier's Facebook page it says "Band members: Julien Mier and his thousand broken instruments". Julien likes to record special sounds, like holding a pan under water and hitting it, so it will sound like a whale. That's just one example of how he creates his unique tracks. In fact, more than 70% of the sounds on his first EP, When Will You Wake Up? consist of sounds he made himself! His music is characterised by fragmented melancholy melodies and experimental textures. He has released tracks on labels like the Canadian King Deluxe, Shipwrec and Lomechanik.
