Originally from Ukraine, Katie Koss, the project of Katja Poltavets, creates soulful indie pop rooted in personal storytelling. With her warm, jazzy vocals, distinctive guitar work and melodic bass lines, she moves between intimacy and groove. Her music mirrors an inner search for freedom and self-love, exploring themes of feminism, ethnicity and identity, at times playful, at times openly vulnerable. Dutch audiences first encountered Katie Koss in 2022, followed by appearances at shows and festivals including Popronde and Noorderslag. She has since released several EPs, collaborated with War Child and completed her first club tour. In 2025, she opened a new chapter with the single PUT YOUR HANDS UP and the EP I’M MY ONE AND ONLY, accompanied by a theatre performance reflecting on her roots, independence and the transition into a new phase of life.
