His name means something like “convulsive,” which may fit his spazzy, constantly cycling tracks. However nervous is a good description as well, nervous in the best possible way. His Makin’ Magic EP is released on the Rwina label, making Krampfhaft a direct colleague of Starkey and Taz Buckfaster. Krampfhaft, real name Joris van Grunsven, releases some hyper-focus, laser-guided footwork destruction on Makin' Magic. Start practicing those complicated Chicago footwork-moves. On the EP’s title track he constructs a megalomaniac synth eruption complete with overblown pronouncements of grandiosity. With support from Mary Anne Hobbs, Starkey, Gaslamp Killer, and Daedelus, he is a star on the rise. A dutch producer on an international level. One to be reckoned with.
