Mariam Wallentin is known as the female part of Swedish duo Wildbirds and Peacedrums. Solo she emerges as Mariam The Believer. Whereas she uses mainly percussion and vocals in Wildbirds and Peacedrums, as Mariam The Believer she extends her options. It all started when she bought a white Gibson guitar in New York and started writing songs on it. With a plan to challenge her relationship with music, she started to compose for the sake of composing. In the end, it resulted in a handful of pop songs with a melancholic undertone and a bit of Persian mysticism, as one can clearly hear on her recently released debut album Blood Donation.
