Mario Batkovic is an accordionist who says he isn't interested in genres. He isn't that easy to classify either. What we can say is that he learned to play in Bosnia and now operates from Switzerland as a composer and songwriter for various projects. His music is (contemporary) classical and influenced by jazz, minimalism, Balkan sounds with an experimental edge. He also works closely with Geoff Barrow (of Portishead fame), has just released his solo album on Bristol based record label Invada Records and performed at the prestigious ATP, Montreux Jazz and Le Guess Who? Festivals.
