Pinkunoizu
ESNS: 2012
Japanese for purple noise, that's Pinkunoizu. Although it can also be the sound of toy animal Pingu on the wrong kind of drugs. An exotic mixture of lo-fi, high-life, nu-folklore,'60s Asian pop and post-apocalyptic future rock. Rather confused? Sit back and listen to the mission of the four Danes. "To never come full circle. To bow the line and play it like a fiddle. To shoot it like an arrow. To collect the cubic rubble from the ruins of tradition and put it together anew." The band members played together in the acclaimed Danish experimental ensemble Le Fiasko. NME heard Fleet Foxes-y harmonies in their music. While the band promises a spectacular, intuitive, immersive and psychedelic live show. Just to show that even after hearing and seeing the band, you can't be sure what you've just witnessed. And that's a compliment!
