Pleasant' isn't the first word that pops to mind when listening to Shiny Darkly and that is exactly what this trio from Copenhagen want. Taking influences by the dark music they love from the eighties, their sound is brooding, drone-like new wave. You can easily hear that singer/guitarist Kristoffer Bech was a fan of Joy Division, The Birthday Party and Nick Cave by the way he sings the lyrics. Their first EP was well received in the UK and the band has played festivals like Roskilde, Iceland Airwaves and now Eurosonic. Their debut album is due out this winter.
