Sign Libra is the moniker of a Latvian artist Agata Melnikova. Her debut album Closer to the Equator is a modern new age synthesis of a tropical rainforest microcosm, inspired by BBC nature documentaries. Follow-up Sea to Sea, released in 2020 via Brooklyn label RVNG Intl., is inspired by the lunar maria - the ancient volcanic formations on the moon surface. Combining research with childlike imagination, Sign Libra’s work approaches man’s relationship with nature with humour and playfulness.
