SLIFT really made a name for themselves with latest album UMMON, released February 2020. The psychedelic spacerock merchants from Toulouse immediately blast you away with the heavy title track before venturing into outer space, at times proggy, fuzzy, cosmic jazzy and hypnotic with repetitive, addictive krautrock beats. The trio had some help from singer Clemence Lagier, while Olivier Clissac added vintage synths. It’s a dazzling album that shoots you off in various directions, the sublime artwork picturing where your mind’s at. SLIFT is, of course, a band you desperately want to experience live.
