Singers Marta Torrella (contralto) and Helena Ros (soprano) started Tarta Relena in 2016 to explore the different styles of vocal music. The Barcelona duo aims to perform a repertoire that ranges from music of oral tradition to songs that in one way or another are related to the Mediterranean. In Tarta Relena’s arrangements, the timbres of the two voices flow like water one moment and then move away in sharpened dissonance.
