ESNS:
2012
You hear it more often nowadays, drums and guitar. Irish band Thread Pulls chose for drums and bass. Gavin Duffy is on duty as bass player, singer and trumpet player. His singing can go everywhere. It has been described as a less cynical Mark E. Smith. On album New Thoughts you may hear echoes of Sheffield’s most prolific sound processors Cabaret Voltaire and the complex polyrhythms and repetitive dance styles of New York’s ESG. New Thoughts grew from extensive live shows often in galleries and warehouses in Dublin. It is music where it is never sure what is going to happen, the only thing that is certain is that in the end the energy will be enormous.
