Vadoinmessico
ESNS: 2012
It is something you can suddenly yearn for on a rainy dark day, wishing you were in Mexico. It was the desire the singer and guitar player of Vadoinmessico (it means "I am going to Mexico") simultaneously had when they were making music sitting in a tiny little flat in London when it was pouring with rain outside. Vadoinmessico consists of two Italians, one musician from Austria, one from Mexico and one from the UK who met each other at a British music college. They decided to make  music that they were all into, and music from their origins, with a bit of melancholy (and a bit of homesickness).  Mediterranean alternative folk with some psychedelic rock in it. On the other hand, their well known single Pepita, Queen of The Animals draws on African rhythms. They have been compared to Arcade Fire, Animal Collective and the old Tyrannosaurus Rex, yet they try to combine their different musical backgrounds with the desire for sunny times and places.
