That's quite a strange bandname for a Dutch audience, Vondelpark is the most famous park of Amsterdam. The place to hang out on long summer nights and also a place with, at times, a peculiar atmosphere. Vondelpark is a three-piece band from Surrey and Londen. They make the kind of music that is almost impossible to describe. Because they are ahead of others, because they are not fond of a deep analysis of their music. "Sade remixed by The xx, or a UK version of the Weeknd's enervated R&B. A dreaminess that makes this seem like slick R&B put through an Ariel Pink filter", tried The Guardian. Music as a representation of a bleak few years in the lives of the band members from being 17 until 20, although they are all quite happy now. And of course they understand that The xx and James Blake are mentioned when it comes to Vondelpark, but only in the sense that music nowadays is a little more humble and personal, emotive music. There is not so much resemblance in music. There is however the similarity that both The xx and James Blake played Eurosonic before breaking through. That's promising for Vondelpark.
