In the music industry, some men may wonder: "Does this concern me? And what can I do about it?" These questions are at the heart of a conversation on promoting gender equity and cultivating male allyship. Against the background of a viral social media debate in which women consider whether they'd prefer to be alone in the woods with a man or a bear.
This session will explore how men can become positive role models—boosting their own reputations, attracting like-minded individuals, and opening doors to new opportunities—while also creating safer, more inclusive spaces for women - and generally for more vulnerable individuals.
Through actionable strategies, participants will learn how to prevent harm, challenge harmful stereotypes, and build a culture of support in alcohol-heavy environments that can often blur boundaries.
Focusing on the importance of positive male role models, this interactive discussion will equip men in the music industry with the knowledge and tools needed to tackle sexism, advocate for women’s safety, and contribute to more respectful industry practices.
